Our main core collections are made by hand from 18k gold vermeil, 18k gold plating, 14k solid gold, sterling silver, and silver plating. We never want to waste a scrap of precious metals which is why we craft from recycled metals.
18k Gold Vermeil
We pioneered 'demi-fine' jewelry by introducing gold vermeil. Pronounced ‘ver-may’, it’s the design and durability you love without the pure gold price tag. Gold vermeil pieces start out as a sterling silver base (this is what gives them their weightier feel and high-end finish). A thick 2.5 microns of real gold is then layered over the top of the base through electrolysis (essentially an electrical current), to give each piece extra durability.
Our gold vermeil is handcrafted with 100% certified recycled sterling silver and gold plating to give a more sustainable layering for our gold vermeil jewelry.
18k Gold-Plated
All of our gold-plated pieces are plated onto brass. In the same method as vermeil, they are then electroplated with two microns of gold (no flash plating here). None of our gold plated pieces are 'flash plated,' 'dipped' or 'gold-tone' – they have a thicker 18k gold layer to ensure these larger styles will stand the test of time.
Like with our gold vermeil, our gold plating is 100% certified recycled. Our goal for going forward is to 100% ace our base with recycled brass, too. We’re working with our suppliers to make this dream a reality.
14k Solid Gold
Our fine jewelry collection is made by hand with 100% certified recycled 14k solid gold. The refinery that provides our recycled gold is chain-of-custody certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council. This means we have assurance and integrity when we use the term ‘recycled gold’.
Sterling Silver
Our silver jewelry is made from 100% certified recycled sterling silver, chain-of-custody certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council.
925 sterling silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. We plate our silver jewelry in rhodium, which gives it extra shine and durability. Rhodium is one of the costliest precious metals due to its rarity. All of our sterling silver pieces are stamped with “925” to certify their authenticity.
Sterling Silver-Plated
Our sterling-silver plated pieces are plated with sterling silver on brass with a layer of anti-tarnish on top. These pieces are still incredibly durable and plated with exactly the same process as our sterling silver, however they are not marked with a '925' stamp as they are not 92.5% pure silver.
