Let’s go behind-the-scenes on our brand-new collection, inspired by the movement of ocean waves and shoreside shells. The curated edit plays with texture to give its metal curves a vintage-inspired edge. Versatile pieces are handcrafted with our signature ridge detailing for a cohesive, endless ripple effect.
From stackable rings to chunky cord necklaces, piece are made using 100% recycled 18ct gold vermeil and recycled sterling silver. Ready to make some waves?

Get the Look:
Initial Inspiration
When it came to designing, our team looked at the way ripples move, evolve and stack upon themselves organically in nature. They then studied everything from the movement of the ocean waves, and the wavy lines the wind makes on sand, to the texture of shoreside shells – natural patterns we’ve repeated to bring texture into our jewelry.
We were inspired by the ripples created by waves and teamed these with organic and smooth shapes. I love the craftsmanship of the gemstone cuts – they’re all hand cut into brand-new shapes, nestling seamlessly into the curves of the designs.- Marisa Hordern, Founder and Creative Director
Sketching Away
A huge learning curve for us was learning the basic rules of how to draw well-proportioned ridges. We were inspired by how they are created by molluscs in nature:
- Expand -/- Starting from the top, each ridge needs to be slightly bigger than the previous one.
- Rotate -/- Each ridge needs to rotate slightly more than the previous one.
- Twist -/- Each ridge needs to twist slightly more than the previous one.
Modelling to Casting
After sketching comes model making, casting and final samples. The process of designing ridges, as well as subsequently making models was quite tricky, considering the projection of the ridges had to be imagined and designed in every angle to add seamless flow – as well as substantial depth to each piece.
We imagined the ridges to criss-cross and wrap all around in different ways – not simply mirroring – to add fluidity to each piece. Each angle has been designed accurately to add movement and volume to the jewelry. Achieving fluid curves is different from every perspective.
After the initial designs have been agreed upon, we make them into life-size technical specifications, with every size, dimension and detail that is needed for them to be made. These then get converted into 3D CADs so we can visualise them in three dimensional form. There are multiple rounds of comments and amends that are made to the CADs until we are 100% happy with them.
Once the 3D CAD has been printed, a rubber mould is then made so that we can use this as the master for all future pieces. We then use this mould to make wax versions that get attached to a wax tree until it’s 100% full.
This is where gold and silver come in – our high-quality metals are micron (or electro) plated with 2.5 microns of 18ct gold on sterling silver for gold vermeil pieces and 2 microns of 18ct gold on brass metal for larger gold plated pieces. None of our gold plated pieces are 'flash plated,' 'dipped' or 'gold-tone' – they have a thicker 18ct gold layer to ensure these larger styles will stand the test of time.Â
Meet the Caspia Necklace
Our love of cord continues with a thicker design for a relaxed look. Wear this statement necklace through hot beachy days into long evenings. The pendant features a central labradorite gemstone that catches the lights with its open back setting.
Ripples of Signature Ridges
Every twist and ridge is inspired by the movement of the ocean. When it comes to our new rings, we’ve purposely designs shapes that easily stack together. Long drop earring styles frame the face and create movement as you wear them.
Link-up with Gemelli
We think we might have pasta the test. Meet our new chunky chains (that may or may not remind us of our favourite Italian food). Al dente or al fresco, the large bespoke links have a twisted design made to take centre stage in your layers.
Marine-Inspired Gemstones
The collection showcases colourful gemstones cut in unusual ways for day and night look. Peruvian Amazonite, Black Onyx, and Labradorite nestle seamless into metal curves – a fresh palette lending warm and moody tones to the gold hues.
