You asked us for jewelry you never have to think twice about – pieces that go from Pilates to dinner without a single change. So, we created our first-ever water-resistant collection. Crafted from 18k gold or platinum, using ultra-durable PVD plating on 316L stainless steel. It's hypoallergenic, sweat-proof, and built with a self-repairing layer that keeps tarnish out. Jewelry designed for real life.

Made for Every Day

You wanted jewelry that could keep up with you, and we listened.

  • Gym – sweat-proof, so it moves when you do.
  • Shower –water-resistant enough to skip the morning ritual of taking it off and putting it back on.
  • Commute – through rain or sunshine, it stays shining.
  • Office – polished enough for meetings, low-maintenance enough that you forget you’re wearing it.
  • Travel – long-haul flights, no jewelry box required.
  • Beach – designed to go with you anywhere (and not be shy of SPF).
  • Everyday layering — stack it, mix it, forget about it.

We wanted to design pieces that would sit seamlessly alongside your existing Missoma favorites, so you can mix, match and layer without a second thought.

The Benefits, Properly Explained

Water-resistant. From the pool to Pilates, these pieces will go with you everywhere.

Sweat-proof. Designed for workouts, heatwaves, hot commutes, and anything else thrown at it.

Hypoallergenic. 316L stainless steel is naturally low-reactive, making these pieces comfortable for even the most sensitive skin.

Anti-tarnish. The 316L stainless steel base carries a self-repairing layer that actively keeps tarnish out. Ultra-durable. This is jewelry designed to be worn constantly. No need to save it for best.

Quality tested. Every piece goes through rigorous wear-testing before it reaches you.

So, What Does Water-Resistant Jewelry Actually Mean?

Behind the simplicity of an everyday chain or a pair of hoops is months of sourcing, testing and refinement.

The foundation is 316L stainless steel – a surgical-grade metal prized for its strength, corrosion resistance and naturally low-reactive properties, which is what makes it comfortable for sensitive skin.

Onto that, we bond 18k gold or platinum using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) – an advanced plating process that fuses the precious metal finish to the stainless steel base far more durably than traditional plating methods. The result includes a self-repairing layer that works to keep tarnish out, rather than simply slowing it down.

We only work with Responsible Jewellery Council audited factories that we've personally visited and vetted ourselves.

Is Water-Resistant Jewelry Actually Waterproof?

One of the questions we hear most: is waterproof jewelry even real? There's no official industry definition for "waterproof jewelry," which is why we use the term water-resistant – in practice, the two are often used interchangeably.

Our honest answer: no jewelry is completely indestructible forever. But these pieces, built on 316L stainless steel with 18k gold or platinum PVD plating, are specifically engineered to withstand water, sweat, heat and everyday wear.

Why 316L Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel lets us build water-resistant essentials that affordable, while keeping the elevated finish, craftsmanship and design details that define our jewelry. It's also what makes these pieces naturally hypoallergenic. The result: foundational pieces designed to become your everyday uniform. The chain you’ll never take off, the hoops you’ll reach for every morning, or the bracelet stack that finishes every outfit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between water-resistant and waterproof jewelry?

In practice, very little – it's largely down to terminology. We use "water-resistant" because we don't believe any jewelry is completely indestructible. What we can promise is that these pieces, built from 316L stainless steel with 18k gold or platinum PVD plating, are engineered to withstand water, sweat and daily wear.

What is PVD plating?

PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is an advanced plating technique that bonds 18k gold or platinum to a 316L stainless steel base far more durably than traditional methods. It's what gives this collection its balance of durability, longevity and elevated finish – including a self-repairing layer that actively works to keep tarnish out.

Does water-resistant jewelry tarnish?

No, thanks to the self-repairing layer built into the PVD coating. Unlike traditional plating, which wears down over time, this layer actively works to keep tarnish out over time.

Can you shower in this jewelry?

Yes. These pieces are made for the shower, sweat, hand cream, perfume, SPF – all the small everyday moments where you don't want to think about taking your jewelry off. We'd still steer clear of prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals like chlorine, but day-to-day life is exactly what this collection was built for.

Can you work out or sweat in it?

Yes, that's the point. Sweat proof by design, built for workouts, heat and active days.

Will it turn your skin green?

No. 316L stainless steel is naturally hypoallergenic and low-reactive, which is why these pieces are comfortable for even sensitive skin.

What jewelry can you wear every day?

The best everyday jewelry combines comfort, versatility and longevity, which is exactly why this Water-resistant collection exists. These are foundational pieces designed to layer effortlessly with your existing Missoma favorites and become part of your everyday uniform: hoops, layering chains, bracelets you'll never take off, elevated essentials, with Missoma style, made for repeat wear.
